Next Thursday, March 1, the Norwegian director Julia Dahr will present the premiere of her documentary Thank you for the rain at the Aribau Club Cinema of Barcelona (Gran Via de les Corts Catalnes, 565) at 7:30 p.m. After the screening the young director will tell us about her latest film and start a participatory conversation with the audience.
Director and social activist, Julia Dahr has worked for 8 years in this documentary and will now present the official premiere in Spain of Thank you for the rain.
She defines herself as someone who puts her effort into the stories about the effects of the environment on people, and specifically, the consequences of climate change. From a new point of view, she questions unjustly established stereotypes and wants to create an impact on the audience.
In 2015 she was nominated for the Grierson Prize and won the One World Media Award, the foundation that promotes documentarians and reporters worldwide. In addition, it has been catalogued by Forbes magazine as one of the thirty most influential under 30s of 2017.
Julia Dahr will be in Barcelona this coming Thursday, March 1st to talk about her movie Thank you for the rain and explain how she found this exciting story. The colloquium will be in English with simultaneous translation into Catalan.
